already，all ready already是副词，意为“较早的”（earlier），“提前”（previously）。

When she arrived,her friend had already left. “当她到达时，她的朋友应经离去了。”We discovered that the tickets were already sold. “我们发现票已经卖完了。”

all ready 用作形容词，意为“完全好了”（completely ready）。试比较：

（1）The meal is already on the table.

（2）The meal is all ready on the table.

句（1）意为“饭菜已经摆在桌子上了。”句（2）意为“桌子上饭菜全上齐待用了。”all ready还有“准备好了”的意思：We are all ready to start.“我们做好了出发前的一切准备。”
